Why is a DSLR camera better than a point and shoot?

DSLR cameras are used by professionals.  They have larger sensors and have more sophisticated controls for taking pictures under challenging conditions.  The main way to tell the difference between a DSLR and a point and shoot camera is that on a DSLR the lens is removable.  Photographers will often own multiple lenses specifically designed for shooting in tight spaces or low lighting.  This allows photographers to get angles that most Point and Shoot cameras can not.
