SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.  SEO can be best broken into two categories.  Internal SEO, and External SEO.  Internal SEO are improvements made to your websites content making it more relavent to Search Engine Spiders. External SEO is marketing, promotion, and link building that help to raise your website's Page Rank Value. Together these two things can increase your ranking on search engines.
